After a really foggy night, we were all wondering whether the game would be played .Waking early the sun was shining ,the game was on; cold, but dry. Core was missing for the game so we had to start the game with Grocott in a position that she had never played.
The game started at a fast pace with Birkdale keen on winning the the ball. Edmondson won the ball on the left and beat four players in a mazy run only for the ball to bobble and was hit just wide. Yet another chance by Edmondson was just wide of the left hand post. Burscough fought hard for the ball but had few chances in the first half.
The second half began at a slower pace with both sets of player looking tired. Burscough played better in the first 10 minutes of the second half with a few great chances to score only for them to go wide. Birkdale had a one-on-one with Edmondson only to be denied by a brave save by the goal keeper, while another chance by Smith looped just wide. In the end a draw was the result with both teams cancelling each other out. Well done girls for the effort.
