Birkdale made a slow start to the game allowing Redgate to have slightly the better of the early exchanges.

The first real chance of the game fell to L Aindow who forced a good save from the Redgate keeper. After 22 minutes Redgate were awarded a penalty for a trip just inside the penalty area which they converted. Within two minutes Birkdale were level through a well taken goal by L Williams. Two minutes before half time, Birkdale took the lead following a cross from the right by L Williams, knocked into the net by D Platts. (more…)

Today saw Birkdale United Under 12′s Girls come up against a big strong Fillies side on one of the muddiest pitches they had played on for a long time, a real challenge ahead. (more…)

A glorious afternoon for football at Carr Lane, Southport and Birkdale made a bright start to this game.

The first real chance of the game fell to Formby after 13 minutes with their forward running on to a through ball and sliding it past the advancing N. Knight but the ball hit the post and bounced away. (more…)

After the short trip to the home pitch of Millers, a strong Birkdale team managed eight goals past a much improved Millers team.

Terrible cold, terrible fog, but this did not stop Birkdale United Under 12′s Girls continuing their run of excellent form at their home ground of Bedford Park in Southport, many thanks to Dynamo Rangers for making this away trip in horrible conditions. (more…)

The Under 12′s Girls were back at their home ground of Bedford Park, in Southport and, another great Birkdale girls effort having scored 27 GOALS in their last 3 games, a good performance from every girl with a special mention to S. Allen, who had a very composed game. (more…)

A sunny Sunday afternoon saw Town Green Lions travel to Carr Lane, Birkdale, Southport. After the game last week, the boys knew they had to improve 10 fold and boy did they do that. (more…)

Birkdale started slowly as usual, but managed to go in at half time two goals up scored by E. Ormerod and K. Heron. The reason they only scored two goals in the first half was due to an impressive performance by the Burscough goalkeeper and their talented No 8. (more…)

Birkdale United Under 13′s Girls Football team were at their home ground of Bedford Park, in Southport today on a very cold wet November day.  The girls put in an excellent performance in the first half with some good passing and Birkdale were unlucky not to score with many attempts on goal.  Allen and Dorman were unlucky not to hit the back of the net. The Birkdale defence of Dolan and Redford prevented any attempts from TMS getting through.  At half time the score remained at 0-0.  (more…)

A game of two halves
 
Birkdale started slowly today, in fact almost at pensioner pace, this resulted in the home side going a goal down to a debated penalty, which was awarded for an unavoidable ball to knee to hand. The home supporters were begining to get anxious when our very own ”Pocket Rocket ” E. Ormerod, rounded the keeper and scored brilliantly from an acute angle. (more…)
