The Under 13′s Girls have completed a memorable unbeaten season with a fantastic 4-2 Challenge Cup victory over Northfield. This is a fantastic achievement by Duggy and the girls – many congratulations from everyone at the Club!

Many congratulations to Peter, Mark and the Under 10′s Girls who have been crowned West Lancashire Girls League Champions in their first season of competitive football. They finished tied on points with Mill Hill, but the League have sensibly decided that both teams will share the honour of calling themselves Champions.

This is a particularly impressive honour as they have remained unbeaten throughout the League campaign. Well done to everyone involved with the team.

The Under 13′s Girls have become the Club’s first League Champions of the season, sealing the West Lancashire Girls League Under 13′s West Division title with a 1-1 draw at Dynamo Rangers. This is a fantastic achievement and even more so when you consider that with just one game left to go in their season, they remain unbeaten throughout the entire season. They are also in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup, so a double is still a distinct possibility.

Many congratulations from everyone at the club to Duggy and all the girls. Well done!

The Under 14 Girls picked up the first silverware of the season as they beat a hard-working and gallant Fillies side 6-0 in the West Lancashire Girls League League Cup Final held at Victoria Park, Burscough. Natasha Meadows and Holly Aitchison both grabbed a brace of goals, with Nicole Smith and Ellie Ralston both getting on the scoresheet. The girls put on an excellent display against tough opponents in a game played in an excellent sporting spirit.

Congratulations to all of the girls and Managers Sharon Caul and Gareth Pring on this fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to Sefton Schoolgirls representative squad who have won the Merseyside Schools Inter-borough League. The squad are coached by Birkdale United’s own Sharon Caul and Kevin Stockley, and a number of Birkdale players are in this year’s squad. Namely, Annabel Blanchard, Emily Byrne and Lily McGuire. Well done to these and to all the girls on another successful season.

Good luck to the Under 14′s Girls in the West Lancashire Girls League Cup Final on Monday evening (7th March), 6:30pm kick off at Victoria Park, Burscough. Managers Sharon Caul and Gareth Pring are very proud of all the girls. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

I have now put all the pictures, team lists and updated information which I have received up on the website. I appreciate this has taken a while but I am sure those of you who are involved in the club know the difficulties we have experienced recently. There is still quite a lot of information to be added to bring the site up to date, including results, photos and team lists. If any of you would like to send me this information using my email address on the Committee page, then please do so and I shall get it on the site as soon as possible. Thank you!

Dear everyone, please can I apologise for the lack of activity on the website of late. I’d like to take this opportunity to explain.

Unfortunately, due to a number of issues, my access to the website was at first cut off, then extremely limited, for an extended period. By the time I had got access, I was well into my school term and simply could not find the time to update the site.

This I have now done. All pages are ready for content and I shall spend the next few days updating everything I have. If any of you would like to send me anything then please do, I will be delighted to receive it. Many thanks for your patience, it is appreciated!

Birkdale United will be holding a Fancy Dress event on Friday 25th March at St Teresa’s Club, Upper Aughton Road. The theme for the event is the 1920′s, and there will be a prize for the best fancy dress! The event starts at 8pm, and tickets cost £7.50 each, which includes a buffet. Birkdale United AFC is looking for players for it’s teams for the new season, 2010-11. Players are welcome at all age groups, but at present we are particularly looking for:

- Under 16 Girls
- Open Age Ladies (especially a goalkeeper!)
- Under 8 Birkdale Falcons (Outfield and ‘Keeper)
- Under 12 Birkdale Black (Outfield and ‘Keeper)

Advance notice for you all, the annual Club Presentation will take place on Saturday 3rd July at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Lord Street, Southport. It will take a similar format to last year’s presentation, with the younger teams being presented with their trophies and medals in the early afternoon, and the older teams being received late afternoon to early evening. Precise times will be advised when we have them. Please keep this date clear!

The Tournament page returns to the Club Website, we are trying to advertise as many Football Tournaments as we can over the next few months, if you see one that you think your team should enter, tell your Manager to check it out.
