The Tournament page returns to the Club Website, we are trying to advertise as many Football Tournaments as we can over the next few months, if you see one that you think your team should enter, tell your Manager to check it out.

The next club meeting Sunday 21st February at S & B Birkdale @ 6.30pm. All managers should bring outstanding monies to the meeting.

Please send apologies as soon as possible to Club Secretary, Sharon Caul if you are unable to attend.

As always, we welcome new players at a variety of different age groups. However, we are particularly keen on the following:

- A Year 2 Goalkeeper for one of our Under 7 teams.

-A Year 4 or 5 female goalkeeper for our Under 9/10 team – we currently have one excellent goalkeeper in this age range but need another to be able to run both teams.

We are also looking for girls in school years 3 to 5 for next year’s Under 9 and Under 10 Girls’ teams. Anyone interested is invited to contact the Club Secretary via the Contacts page.

The first sessions for next year’s Under 7’s players will be starting soon. Boys and Girls in Year 1 who would like to start playing football are invited to attend training at Carr Lane, Birkdale, starting on Saturday 27th October at 10am. The club will be holding another fancy dress social evening on Friday 19th March at Southport and Birkdale Cricket Club, from 8:00pm. Tickets are available from Managers and Committee members for £7.50, and the price includes a hot buffet. There will also be a raffle and Irish Bingo, as well as a late bar. Unlike the previous social, there is no theme for the fancy dress this time, so the choice is yours! But, we have added a gallery from the last event for you to browse!

The next Managers’ Meeting will take place on Sunday 21st February at Southport and Birkdale Sports Club, Trafalgar Road, Birkdale, at 6:30pm. All managers should attend, apologies please to Club Secretary, Sharon Caul.

Birkdale United Under 12’s Black are looking for players for this newly established side. They are particularly keen to recruit a new goalkeeper. Anyone interested should contact either Sharon Caul, Kevin Stockley or Jon Heyward via the contacts page.

Many thanks to everyone who supported the recent Race Night at the Blundell Arms, which raised over £300 for the Club. It was a very enjoyable evening, and many thanks should go to the Fundraising Committee for organising the event.

You are warmly invited to the first Birkdale United Quiz Night, in aid of club funds. This will take place on Sunday 20th September at the Blundell Arms, Upper Aughton Road, Birkdale. The quiz will start at 8pm prompt, and entry is £1 per team member.

Please be patient while the website upgrades take place, there is a lot of content to move and also new pages to be created. Please rest assured though the website will still be available whilst we work.

Next season Birkdale United will host 26 teams all playing football locally, so be sure to keep checking back for more information.

At the recent Liverpool County FA Charter Standard Awards Evening, the Club and its coaches were delighted and surprised to receive a number of awards.

Birkdale United was named Charter Standard Community Club of the Year, following on from the Development Club of the Year award of twelve months ago. This is a phenomenal achievement and every member of the club should feel great pride as everyone has worked towards this prestigious honour.

It was also a fantastic night for Club Chairman, Kevin Stockley, who was named not only LCFA Coach of the Year but also North West Coach of the Year. Both of these awards are just reward for the work which Kevin has put in, not only this year but over the many years he has been involved with the club. He now goes forward to the National awards and we wish him the very best of luck!

The next Managers Meeting will take place on Sunday 30th August, starting at 6:30pm at the Blundell Arms, Upper Aughton Road, Birkdale. All Managers are expected to attend. Any apologies should be directed to Club Secretary, Sharon Caul.

The Fundraising Committee will also hold its first meeting on the same day and at the same venue, beginning at 5:30pm. Apologies or queries should be directed to Committee Chairperson, Chris Walker.
